Exec: Gazprom to keep annual gas exports at 195–200 bcm

MOSCOW, Oct 25 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom will keep gas exports at 195–200 billion cubic meters in 2019 and in the medium term, Deputy CEO Alexander Medvedev said in an interview with the corporate magazine released on Thursday.

“Specific volumes of supplies may vary – it is known that the main factor affecting gas consumption in the short-term is weather. However, the established high levels of exports, when volumes of supplies of Russian gas amount to 195–200 billion cubic meters a year, will remain. We can call it the new reality of the European gas market for several years ahead,” he said.

Gazprom expects the average price of gas exports in 2018 at U.S. $248 per 1,000 cubic meters, Medvedev also said.

Gazprom will start construction of the land part of the second line of the TurkStream gas pipeline in Turkey in 2019, Medvedev said. The launch of the pipeline is scheduled for December 2019, he added.

He also said the company can build a gas pipeline from Russia to South Korea through North Korea in a short time if political decisions are made.

Medvedev also said that Gazprom keeps plans to create a gas hub in St. Petersburg.

Speaking about the Baltic LNG liquefied natural gas plant project, Medvedev said that the main sales markets for the project will be the Atlantic, the Middle East, and South Asia.
